Artwork Details

Two thousand years of Han dynasty lacquer craft. Natural lacquer from trees at least seven years old — each producing only about ten kilograms in its lifetime. Every drop holds nature's rarity and the weight of time.

The craftsperson layers lacquer with wood shavings by hand, building texture through repeated coating, drying, and sanding — until a rough base becomes warm and fine, settled by time. At the center, pure silver leaf hammered by hand for six to eight hours until thin as a cicada's wing. Fired copper brings natural color variation. Abalone shell carries the sea's iridescence. Three materials form the luminous oasis. The green palette — like duckweed after rain, fresh and warm. Hidden within the texture, pink undertones surface faintly, like spring arriving.
